It seems like yesterday when we started our first Community Contest here on DASH, but we've already hit a milestone, and we're bringing you a very special Community Contest #10 to celebrate!
We each have our own unique collections that we love dearly, and I want to make sure the entire action figure world gets to see yours. That's why DASH has made the Collection Showcase feature available to all our users, and designed Community Contest #10 to give you the chance to show off your new Collection Showcase page.
If you're unfamiliar with a DASH Collection Showcase, you absolutely have to check out my Collection Showcase before you do anything else. It's really the perfect spot to showcase who you are as a collector by adding photos, videos, a collecting story, and the actual details of your collection.
And that's exactly what we're asking you to do in Community Contest #10. Keep reading for all the details.

Just follow the steps below to make sure you're entered into this incredible opportunity.
- Register on Collector-ActionFigures.com if you haven't already.
- Enter your email address and DASH username in the Community Contest #10 Entry Form.
- Find your Collection Showcase in the My Collection tab.
- Add photos, videos, a collecting story, along with a full collection and wanted list by Sunday, February 3rd at 11:59:59 pm ET.
- Your showcase will then be assessed by a team at DASH for quality, creativity, and thoroughness. The best showcases will be selected for Phase 2, and you will be informed if yours made the cut.
- Stay tuned and check your email for regular updates on the contest.
I look forward to seeing your collections and hearing your stories. If you have any questions, just leave a comment below or send me an email at Corey@Collector-ActionFigures.com. And good luck!

Hey Corey, havin a spot of trouble here. I've gone to upload my pics in my picture showcase, and it says "downloading files" but nothing is showing up in my showcase.
See cobra48103's collectionNo Dice, I've tried Firefox and Google Chrome.....it says "downloading pictures" but nothing is showing up. Help please!
See cobra48103's collectionHey Cobra, sorry I'm a little behind on comments pushing the contest out yesterday. I'm looking into this for you. I do know that there is a 5 photo limit on uploads. So if you try to upload more than 5 at a time it will not work.
See Corey_Tincher's collectionCould you describe the exact steps you're following, because I'm not having the same problem.
yeah. i've been only doin five at a time. even one's not working. ok:
See cobra48103's collectionI click on the "collection showcase" link
Then I click on the "Add new or manage existing photos"
I select five photos,
the box that says "photos to upload" pops up
I check the "i certify i have the right...."box
I click "upload photos"
the "photo upload status" box pops up
it shows that the photos are uploading
it disappears
and nothing is there
i've refreshed the page, used both firefox and Google Chrome
and nothin is working
It says "
I had the same problem. I finally got it to work when I used IE. Admittedly not my browser of choice, but it did the trick.
See nryan's collectionThank you for this tip, it worked for me.
See froggydogg's collectionIt didn't solve my issues with the want list and avatar, however.
finally!!! I switched to my wife's PC and was able to upload all my stuff. Whew! I was gettin' worried i wouldn't be able to play with you guys.
See cobra48103's collectionI'm glad everything is finally sorted out. Thanks for being so patient and working through the problems!
See Corey_Tincher's collectionI know I've mentioned it to you before Corey, but I cannot edit my Want List. Items will not delete from it. Not sure if it's only me, but I've tried multiple browsers.
See froggydogg's collectionI'm wondering if that's my problem with uploading pics.....i'll try that
See cobra48103's collectionI don't know if it'll make a difference, but I am successful across four browsers when adding to showcase, so I'm not sure what the root cause might be.
See Corey_Tincher's collectionHey again froggydogg, we're still working on that particular bug and variations of it. Something is wonky, but don't worry, we'll take all that into account when assessing showcases.
See Corey_Tincher's collectionThanks! I also can't seem to change my avatar either.
See froggydogg's collectionHey froggydogg,
See Corey_Tincher's collectionThis is another thing I'll need to look into, but once again, don't worry about it affecting the outcome of the contest at this point. We're more concerned with photos, videos, a story, and such.
This contest has one of the awesomest prizes yet, but as we're about to change apartments and I don't have much shelf space of my own for the time being, it seems like I'll have to miss out on it. I do hope you do something like this again though. It's a really neat way to show off your stuff. I like how it encourages play and creative arranging of figures and the like.
See Ferocious_Rabbit's collectionBy the way, at what point do we get a forum? I've got a few questions like: What is the stance of this site of "Third Party" figures and companies like FansProject or TFC? And how are Japanese or other foreign figures received here? I see a few listings for figma, Revoltech, and so on, but I can tell your focus is the mainstream North American market. I think a forum would really help members communicate with staff and each other. News articles are great for comments and discussion, but imagine the topics that could be covered on a forum. User created content could inspire new directions for DASH Flash and help grow your community. Just a thought.
See Ferocious_Rabbit's collectionThose are all great questions.
See Corey_Tincher's collectionWe've been considering a formal forum for a long while now, and we'll have to see where it slots into other plans on the development side of things.
When it comes to "third party" figures, we're totally open to them. Although Hasbro and others rightfully don't like them, we want to document every single figure there is, regardless of "perceived legality" or anything else. That means even bootleg figures are welcome too! You're probably right that the catalog is a little weak at this point, but we do rely on the community to flesh out the catalog, so we'd welcome a devoted fan to improve our import/third party/foreign areas of the catalog.
I do understand your concerns thinking about a forum, but for now I think we're going to try to make the most of these comment threads and see when the forum can become a more firm reality. I think these comments are already an incredible platform when combined with our social sites and such.
We'll certainly look into something like this again in the future. We have lots of ideas for contests and prizes, but we're always open to suggestions too.
See Corey_Tincher's collectionGood luck to all you ladies and gentlemen in this one tonight!
See cobra48103's collectionGood luck to you too, cobra48103! I wish I could enter, haha.
See Corey_Tincher's collectionHi, I am uploading my images (from Mexico) on Feb 3rd, but they appear as uploaded on the 4th. Would I get a chance to participate still?
See Mosh's collectionMosh, I hope our email correspondence answered all your questions. Thanks again for entering!
