Collector-ActionFigures Search Tips

The Collector-Actionfigures search engine is an advanced tool to help you find what you are looking for. You can simply enter text and search, just like any other search engine. However, if you use some of the advanced features below, you will be able to more precisely control your search results.

If you type this in the Search box: You will find:
Luke Skywalker

All figures whose name contains "Luke Skywalker"

The words "Luke" and "Skywalker" must be next to each other in the name. This is a whole-word search. i.e. This search will NOT return "Luke Skywalker's Snowtrooper"

Luke Skywalker
Luke Skywalker and R2-D2
Bespin Luke Skywalker
+Luke +Leia

All figures whose name contains "Luke" AND "Leia" in their name. The two words do not have to be side-by-side, and they can be in any order.

Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia
Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia
Princess Leia Organa, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker
+Luke -Skywalker

All figures whose name contains "Luke" AND DOES NOT CONTAIN "Skywalker"

Luke Talbot
Luke Duke
Luke Cage
Luke Skywalker's

Notice that "Luke Skywalker's" does show up. That is because these are whole-word searches. "Skywalker's" is not the same as "Skywalker". To eliminate "Skywalker's" from your search, see the next example.

+Luke -Skywalker*

All figures whose name contains "Luke" AND DOES NOT CONTAIN [any word that starts with "Skywalker". The * is a wildcard that means any number of any characters.

Luke Talbot
Luke Duke
Luke Cage
Red*

All figures whose name contains any word that starts with "Red"

Adam Dunn - Reds, Away
Redeemer
Redwoods
Stephen Davis - Redskins
Wings of Redemption
Additional Search Notes:
1. You can search for strings as few as 2 characters. 1 character searches will not work
2. Searches are NOT Case Sensitive. "LUKE", "Luke" and "luke" will return the same results
3. Search works on a "whole word" basis. If you need to find partial words, use a * wildcard. (See wildcard search examples above)
4. Search looks in the Name, Brand, Series Info, UPC, Manufacturer Number, Assortment Number and DASH ID fields. If you know the UPC or Mfg Number of the figure, it is often the most efficient thing to search for to find the figure.

5. A word preceeded by a "+" (plus sign) means you want to find it. A word preceeded by a "-" (minus sign) means you do not want to find it.

6. By default searches will search the entire Collector-ActionFigures database. If you have already selected a brand or genre and only want to search within that selection, then choose "In Current Selection" in the drop-down box in the search bar.
